Packing light for a two-week trip: a cabin-bag method

Travelling with only a cabin bag means quicker exits, no lost luggage and often a cheaper fare. Two weeks sounds like a lot to fit in, but it works if you plan around a short repeating wardrobe.

Plan for five days, not fourteen

Pack clothes for about five days and plan one laundry stop. Most hotels, apartments and even many hostels make washing easy. This one decision halves what you carry.

Pick a colour palette

Choose two or three colours that all go together. When every top matches every bottom, a handful of pieces becomes many outfits.

Roll, cube and fill the gaps

  • Roll soft clothes tightly to save space and reduce creases.
  • Use packing cubes to keep categories together and compress them.
  • Stuff socks and chargers inside shoes.

Wear the bulky items

Travel in your heaviest shoes and jacket. They take no bag space, and cabins can be cool anyway.

Check the exact allowance

Cabin bag sizes and weight limits vary between airlines and even between fare types on the same airline. Measure your bag, including wheels and handles, before you leave home.

When we book your flights, we confirm the precise baggage allowance in writing, so there are no surprises at the gate.
